WHY THIS BLOG?

I am a 21st century Hindu. I am proud of my religion , but to be honest , I do not know much about it. It's apparent that many Hindus of my generation do not know about this great religion either. But what I do know is that Hinduism is the victim of many haters and much of this hatred is mainly because the religion is so vast and so full of abstractions that it is very easy to misunderstand.

To an extent , this is due to the twisting of some of the mandates of the religion into  atrocities ( people love to talk about the twisted caste system , ostracisation of widows , sati, child marriage, female infanticide and many such things ) . Trust me, most Hindus themselves, are ashamed of this and agree that it is something heinous.
However it is important to realise that these repugnant practises have developed in the past few centuries. They are not a part of the original religion .
Before I start, I want to make known the purpose of this blog.
Everyday, I come across so many haters. not just of Hinduism but all religions. This kind of shaming of others beliefs can only lead to hate wars (they have already started ) . I cannot talk about all religions because I do not know much about them. But what I can start with is the religion I have been born into and live by .

What qualifies me to write about something that I admittedly do not know much about?
well, I am learning about the religion and will not post anything without first being utterly convinced. Also ,having best friends who are Christians and Muslims, I have a fairly open mind and will attempt to answer their questions too through this blog .
